“Hailing from the North of England, The Courteneers made a noticeable splash on the UK music scene from 2007 onwards, with several UK Top 40 singles and a Top 5 debut album. After a couple of years off they returned in the first quarter of 2010 with 'You Overdid It Doll', taken from the album 'Falcon'. The single showed signs of a musical progression for the band, with their classic rock sound intertwined with pop and electro influences, without every straying beyond recognition of their original sound. A toe-tapping beat and smooth vocals from Liam Fray make for an enjoyable listen, and contributes to the catchy, mainstream-friendly sound. The band manages to maintain a definite 'indie' aura, and do a good job of crafting a sound that somehow combines classic indie with radio-friendly pop-rock, without offending fans of either genre.”
